The Olympic Game as the most important competition in the world generates lots of attention, and many people talk about it in social media. There are many brands use the Olympics as a great chance to do the social media marketing. 

P&G is one of the official sponsors of The Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in 2018, P&G China launched the marketing campaign to encourage the public to cheer for the Olympics with Chinese Olympic Committee. 


P&G China launched the hashtag #13亿人为爱打call助力冬奥#, which encourage the public to cheer for the Chinese team in PyeongChang. 


P&G invited lots of celebrities to post videos on Weibo with the hashtag, includes some famous sports stars, movie stars, supermodels, therefore to generates awareness on social media, let more people pay attention to the winter Olympics. 

Moreover, they created posters of the team member of the Chinese team after they finished the competition with a very inspired sentence. The team member of the Chinese team would post the posters on their Weibo account with the hashtag #Fignt for love, be your own champion#. 

No matter what kind of result you got in the competition, you are your own champion because you fight not only for yourself but for the people who care and love you. Many people posted comments and retransmission those Weibo. There are lots of discussion below this hashtag, and it becomes the hottest topic during The Winter Olympics, it got a great influence in the society.


In addition, P&G China also put an outdoor campaign in the subway in Beijing. There is a special P&G snow subway created for The Winter Olympics, it uses VR technology in the design, in order to let people have a deeper understanding of the knowledge of the Olympics and different games. Different carriages have different topics that connected different subsidiary brands of P&G with the programs in The Winter Olympics.

I hope there will be more people pay attention to the competition and athletes, and I wish I could witness the wonderful performance of the Chinese athletes in 2022's Beijing Winter Olympics!" one of the passengers that participated into the campaign in Beijing's subway said.


The P&G's social media marketing campaign for The Winter Olympics is super successful and achieved great influence in the society.

  1. I think the topic is so navel that I cannot imagine how the Winter Olympics use the social media to market themselves, they use the Hashtag to encourage the public to cheer for Chinese team, they also have the campaign to let people get the knowledge of Winter Olympics, so great blog post.
